The Kamado-San Donabe Rice Cooker is handmade in Japan, and the specific clay and glaze that is used result in a specific effect. The rice cooker donabe has a black glazed lid, and an inner lid. The bottom part is partly left unglazed. The donabe is both a cooking pot and a serving dish, so you can bring your dish from the stove to the table directly.
The Kamado-san in suitable for gas stove only. You can also use for a portable gas burner, if you kitchen doesn’t have a gast stove, or for outdoor cooking.
You can also use the rice cooker as a deep bodied donabe for stews and soups. The Kamado-san comes with a ceramic trivet and wooden rice spoon.
